As the name implies, Vancouver's South Hall Banquet &
Wedding Palace typically hosts once in a lifetime events
for clients with very long lead times to plan. Combined with
their extensive menu options, the host of special touches
they can arrange, and guest counts which often exceed 1,000,
this poses precisely the administrative challenge which R.S.V.P.
was designed to handle.
But R.S.V.P. not only freed up
time for owner Bill Kainth and his son Rajan to manage their
other businesses: on-site and take-out catering, as well
as supplying wholesale prepared sauces and other delicacies.
It was even customized for these other activities with one
integrated calendar as well as different company logos for
invoicing and corresponding with their South Hall or Moti
Raja Catering clients.
Furthermore, Rajan's varied responsibilities frequently take
him off-site both during and after regular business hours.
So it was at his request that R.S.V.P.
was first interfaced to handheld Palm personal digital assistants;
providing essentially all the scheduling and client contact
information he ever needs anytime, anywhere.
So when the Kainth family recently expanded their business
to include party supplies and equipment rentals as well,
they were so pleased with R.S.V.P.,
they invited its developer, Paul Schatzley, to design custom
software to support this new venture too.
